ICARMA Web Site Launched to Enhance Global
Awareness
November 15, 1999 -- Contact Manager of Communications (703-524-8800)
ARLINGTON, Va -- The Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute (ARI),
which serves as the Council Secretariat for the International Council of Air-Conditioning and
Refrigeration Manufacturers' Associations (ICARMA) is pleased to announce the launch of a
new ICARMA Web site (http://www.icarma.org).
The new site will promote and expand awareness of the global air-conditioning and refrigeration
industry. It will also enable ICARMA members to work together more closely on issues that
affect the industry on global, regional, or national levels. Julie McCombs, ARI's director of
international trade and ICARMA Secretariat representative, feels that "The Internet is a powerful
tool for bridging the time and geographic barriers which separate our members. ICARMA's Web
site will allow us to find consensus, achieve our common goals, and promote the industry to a
global audience."
ICARMA, which was established in 1991, is a membership organization open only to national
trade associations in major countries with manufacturers who have a significant share of the international market. ICARMA's current members are ARI, the
Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute; CRAA,
the China Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Industry Association; EUROVENT/CECOMAF,
the European Committee of Air-Handling, Air-Conditioning, and Refrigeration Equipment
Manufacturers; HRAI, the Heating,
Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Institute of Canada; and
JRAIA, the Japan Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Industry
Association.
Those interested in learning more about ICARMA should go to http://www.icarma.org, or contact Julie McCombs at jmccombs@ari.org or 703-524-8800.
