Role of GREEN Committees
(Revised January 3, 2001)

Steering Committee

The Steering Committee is composed of eight senior industry executives: two from ARI member companies, one from an HRAI member company, two from EPEE member companies, and three from Asian companies (two from JRAIA, one from CRAA). The Steering Committee approves organizations to participate in the testing program, and has final approval for the program rules plus the release of all data and communications pieces.

Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee is composed of 8-12 individuals with a broad knowledge of refrigerants, equipment, safety, and markets. They are appointed by the Steering Committee. This Committee will advise the Steering Committee and the staff as requested.

Testing Committee

The Testing Committee is composed of one representative of each of the participating companies and organizations. Multiple representatives for a participating company can attend meetings, if space allows. The Testing Committee will develop rules for testing and for reporting on results. The Committee will be provided with test reports and will listen to oral presentations of all tests. The Committee members will be allowed to ask questions and critique the reports. Unresolved comments shall be printed along with the test report in whatever media the report is published.

Staff

The effort will be staffed by ARI. Budget requirements (beyond manpower) expected at $50,000 per year.
